Puppy Kindergarten for pups age 3 months - 6 months This class covers puppy basics, like house training, basic obedience, how to discourage chewing on everything and other puppy survival skills. Remember, this puppy age group is equivilent to the human "terrible twos." What your pup learns now will set her up for the rest of her life, plus make your life a whole lot more fun. Each class also has free-play socialization time for puppies, and problem solving for puppy parents.
Puppy Grade School for pups 6-9 months old
Now that your pup is growing up, he may challenge you more. This age group is discovering hormones, and like children, this will change their behavior. The class is designed to continue canine obedience training, familiarize you with what to expect developmentally from your puppy and what to do about it! We will also take those puppy basic commands and apply them to real everyday living. Wouldn't it be nice if your pup waited at the door instead of rushing out...Didn't stare at you while eating or try to take your food...Walked nice and calmly on a leash? Puppy High School for pup over 9 months old This class teaches you and your puppy how to navigate through the challenging behaviors your now "teenage" pup may have, as well as completing her training. For instance, she will learn the long sit-stay, walking on a loose lead, how to "heel" and other pleasurable skills. If you are thinking that your companion might make a good therapy dog, agility dog or perhaps an outreach dog (i.e. the SPCA's school and visiting program) this is the place to start. Canine University (K-9 U) Activities with your best friend K-9 U is offered only a few times a year in classes limited to four dogs, or individually, for the development of more advanced skills. Preparation for the AKC Good Citizen Test, Therapy Dog registration , Service Dog or agility training are a few of the fun things you can go for upon completion, plus a few attention getting tricks! How cool is that? Puppy Training for Teens teenagers 13-19 Does your child just love dogs? Perhaps your teen wants to get a dog, but you don't want to end up doing all the work? Research shows that children and teens raised with pets are more adept at social skills, empathy and display more responsible behavior than those who aren't. Dogs don't care how you look, what you wear or what grades you get. Just the act of teaching a puppy builds confidence, self-esteem and bonding in children and teenagers. And besides, it's a lot of fun!
Primarily, we can teach your dog, train him as a Therapy Dog, or to to assist you as a Service Dog. We also will teach you how to handle puppy problems on your own, so that little doggie stressor can become a comfort instead.
